The Game Ready Injury Treatment System is a combined cryotherapy (cooling/icing) and compression unit. The unit is incredibly effective at treating acute injuries (e.g. ligament sprains and muscle strains) and following orthopaedic surgery. The cold and compression helps address swelling, haemotoma (bruising) and inflammation that may be present following injury or surgery.
The Game Ready unit is extremely versatile and can be applied to feet, ankles, calves, knees, thighs, hips and groin, shoulders and elbows.
The Game Ready unit works by pumping iced water and air around a sleeve wrapped around the body part to be treated. The temperature of the circulating water can be controlled ranging from 1-10 degrees Celcius. The degree of compression provided to the injured area by the sleeve can also be adjusted.
Our physiotherapists use the Game Ready unit on a regular basis as part of any overall treatment plan. If you would like to know whether Game Ready application would be appropriate for your injury, please speak with your physiotherapist.
